Leaflet design...

I went to the clothes show this year and there were a lot of new little boutiques selling their new ranges there and each boutique tended to have their own promotional material for instance leaflets...this one I liked inparticular, I love the hand drawn element and would like to start drawing more and involving it in my work that I am doing in 3rd year.

Festive Leeds Bag competition brief...Research and Inspiration

Existing bags for Leeds live it love it...simple bold type with limited colour palette...

Experimental typography, effective way of communicating an idea creatively and attracts attention and draws people in.

Idea of simple patterns could work well on a hessain style bag and will be appropriate for a wide range of audiences if it is tasteful.

Cath Kidston bags...great example of fun creative patterns that attract attention.
Below fun and playful design using limited colour palette...something simple and effective could work with my designs for my bag I think as long as it is new and fresh!

Below more elegant, sophisticated designs suiting a particular target audience...too obvious designs.

Looking at imagery and graphics from the Festive Leeds website, taking into consideration colours, typefaces, layouts etc that are existing already.

Packaging...

I chose to involve packaging into my t shirt brief as I thought it was essential that I improve my skills in this particular area, looking at design in context for packaging I really notice the level of professionalism and I really don't think my work levels up to this standard, I want to become more confident in this area.

I spotted this little packaging design, I really like the 'cuteness' of it and I also spotted the little tag that is attached to it with a little chain and I think this could work really well for my tag that I am going to attach to my t shirts. It just looks alot more professional that having say string.
The packaging below caught my eye mainly because of the type used really but I like the simplicity of it and I want an element of simplicity in my t shirt designs.
Exciting and experimental packaging...bringing a fun and interactive element into design.
