T-shirt packaging...

I wanted to maybe create my own packaging for lollys involving my 'taste tees' logo much similar to the example below.
I bought these and sweets to photograph with my t shirt and packaging, I actually thought the type on the packaging was really cool, it's the same kind of style as my type that I have used through out my t shirt brief.

This tag design i found on one of my items of clothing...I've picked it out because of the chain used...I want to use this chain for my tag/label to make it look more professional and hard wearing.

I thought this was really cool packaging...It looks like the t shirt has been packaged in meat packaging...its placing the t shirt in context but its almost out of context also, inappropriate context that strangely works.
H&M tag...I need to consider the material that I am going to use for my tee's...whether it be string or ribbon etc...I was thinking of maybe using a waxy kind of string because that is quite strong and resistant and not as messy as string and is more appropriate for my style.

Simple sleve packaging but works nicely...

Self promotion...

Creative way of promoting yourself...I really want to think of something really unique and individual...it's taking me a while but I want it to be perfect and I dont just want to settle for anything.

Resistance brief...

The very current issue surrounding Rihanna who suffered from domestic violence....I think it was good in a way to show that celebrities don't always have the high life and people who are suffering from it also may look up to Rihanna and speak up if they see other people are struggling too...so I could maybe involve her into my work...having someone that people admire and look up to!

I have decided to follow the path of domestic violence and relate the brief of interpreting the brief in this direction.  Focusing on the resistance to domestic violence  and producing a factual campaign to make people more aware and open to that fact that it is happening all around us and to reach to women and men that need help.
I have picked out a few campaigning posters that I found on the internet, I found alot of them involved hard impacting photography and not alot of illustration has been used at all in this subject so I think I am going to mix it up a bit and see if I can still recieve the same kind of reaction with hand drawings.
The poster will have to be very hard hitting and almost a bit offensive to get a reaction from people and make them act on what they have seen and get people talking about it for changes to be made.  There is a kind of different out look on how to communicate the issue, the collage of the womens face is quite an effective idea, it doesnt directly communicate what is happening but once you know it is really effective.

www.eioclothing.com

Here are a few tees that I thought were pretty cool from eio clothing...I haven't really found many printed womens tees but there is a good example here of the sort of style of t shirt that I would like to print onto.
Also there is the example of a colour variation that I think really stands out being black and gold...I could maybe bring this combination into my designs instead of just using black and red.

Peter versus Toby...

Range of t shirts made by this guy in australia...i really like the simplicity of his range and the limited colour palette. One of my friends had one of his black and white photographic tees on and it looked wicked although i dont think they were screen printed i think they were done digitally.

Johnny Cupcakes t shirts....

Johnny cupcakes website...love the layout of his website, clear fun and interactive. Also limited colour palette.
Stickers using type and imagery from existing t-shirts.

Other promotional material for his t shirt range.
Placing t shirt designs in context.

This another idea that I could incorporate into my designs...using other forms of promotional material.

I like the little tag that is involved inside the t shirt and the one at the bottom of the t shirt...I think it just makes cupcakes tee's that little bit more unique and individual to him. His attention to detail is amazing and I think that is why he has become so successful!

Johnny Cupcakes is kind of the reason why I decided I wanted to make a go of designing my own t shirt range...it is amazing how successful he has become and how well known he is as a contemporary designer!
I think the style of his designs are really tasteful and much like the sort of work that I am producing, involving image and experiemental type! I also like the colour variations that he uses...I really like black and yellow together it really stands!
I have also noticed that on the back of all his t shirts he almost signs them with his signature cupcake and bones! I think this is a wicked idea and I would like to think of something like this!

Tee's from TopMan...

I quite like the use of black and white photography on plain white tee's I think it is really eye catching and strong and I also like the the example of continuous pattern of the panda...just shows other ways in which all the t shirt is used effectively.

These are a few examples of some of the tees they sell at Topman...I quite like the playful type they have used in some of them and I can kind of relate it slightly to the style that I am working with with my tee's.

BLANKA website.....

When having my crit with Justin he mentioned having a little look at Blanka website...I found a few really cool pieces of work.

Inspiration for Leeds Festive shopping bag...

I found this type experiement in a book that i was reading in the library...I really related it to the work that I was doing for the leeds festive bag and I thought that I could work with this idea and incorporate it into a slogan for example 'Walking in a winter wonder leeds'!

A t shirt that I came across that really suits the style that I am working to for my lupe fiasco t shirts. I love the involvement of colour and big fun designs.

Kate Maross

I came across Kates work on a website...I love the hand rendered type that she has created and brought them all together as one! Obviously she has transfered her existing drawings into illustrator and the outcome looks more professional and I really want to be able to do this to a higher standard and better my skills in illustrator.

Alex Trochut
I think I can relate the work that I am producing and the work I aim to produce in future briefs to the work of Alex Trochut.  I really like his style and the fact that he uses image and type combined.  I think he is a great inspiration to me and I would like my work to become the same level of professionalism as he has.
I have looked at his work for inspiration when designing my t shirts...

Si Scott
I loved the fact I got to meet Si Scott, I have always wanted to chat to him about his work and ask him a few questions.  I found out a few interesting facts about his work and what pens he uses, the scale of his work, the dpi he scans his images in etc. I think it was really useful chatting to him as this could potentially enhance my work that I do in my briefs and future illustrative work.
